"In my lifetime I want everyone in the world to have tasted Coke."
Robert Woodruff, President of the Coca Cola Company from 1923-1955

Does this ring true in our lives?

"In my lifetime I want everyone in the world to have experienced Jesus."

Just one more thing: How far would you go to help out a friend in need?

My big, fat, greek compassion
040609

Throughout the gospels, Jesus is said to have compassion on others. This compassion moved him to feed the multitudes, heal the sick, and bring salvation to all men. Just as Jesus had compassion, so should we!

The greek word for compassion is "splagchnizomai", meaning "to be moved as to one's bowels". No, it doesn't mean to go to the toilet, rather, it means to be moved from the core of your being with deep love and pity, and a deep desire to help others. It means sharing the love of Christ with people who need it whether it's befriending the new person in school, helping out a mate with their homework, or sharing your lunch with someone who forgot theirs.

Will you be moved with "splagchnizomai" today?

The Others
200509

Who are the others? Well, you could say, the others are anybody who isn’t you!

The Bible teaches us to be accountable to others, to respect others and, above all, to love others. Come along to Youthopea in the month of May and find out how we can love “the others” just as Christ has loved us!

Expect the unexpected

Susan Boyle stepped onto the stage of Britain's Got Talent, to face a snickering crowd and cynical judges. But something unexpected happened when she opened her mouth and began to sing...

Just one more thing: Susan Boyle used her voice to transform a skeptical crowd into a standing ovation. You might find yourself in a similar situation: it looks like there's no way out of a problem, or you're in a situation you can't seem to fix. Don't worry, just trust in God - God is able to turn things around in your favour when you least expect it!

Living in POWER

picYou don’t need bulging biceps to live in power.
You don’t need a dangerous jab and left hook combo either.
All you need is to be connected to the source of power.

Come along to Youthopea this April as we connect with God and discover how we can live in His power – the power of the Holy Spirit.

So, plug in and switch on – it’s time for you to start living in power!

Did I tell you about my IT guy Fred?

Steph’s hilarious IT jokes had Youthopea in stitches last Friday! We’ve found some more that you can share with your friends …

IT Guy/Fred: "All you have to do is hit F8."
Customer: "Do I hit 'F' and '8' at the same time?"

IT Guy/Fred: "Your password will be lower case 'b' as in banana, a capital 'V' as in Vickie, the number '7' - "
Customer: "Is that a capital '7'?"

Extreme wakeboarding

Check out these awesome, out-of-this-world tricks by uber-pro wakeboarders.

Just one more thing: Isaiah 40:30-31 says, “For even young people tire and drop out, young folk in their prime stumble and fall. But those who wait upon GOD get fresh strength. They spread their wings and soar like eagles, they run and don't get tired, they walk and don't lag behind.” We might not be able to wakeboard like these guys but when we wait upon God, we will get the strength that we need to keep going strong for Him!
